About Me
My name is Darien O’Hern. I was fortunate enough to grow up with a dad who knows a lot about cars. Before I moved away for college, he made sure that I knew how to handle a vehicle on my own. (i.e. He put me in a garage and told me to change all my tires and my oil.) However, when I moved I found that a lot of my female friends didn’t know anything about their vehicles. I would check their filters and fluids for them, but eventually I realized that I wasn’t actually helping them (teach a man to fish and all that), which is why I created The College Girl’s Car Guide.
The College Girl's Car Guide is a dedicated resource created to empower young women who are stepping out on their own for the first time. I understand that vehicle maintenance can be intimidating, especially when you're managing it by yourself. So, the mission is to equip young women with the confidence and practical knowledge needed to tackle common car issues independently.
Through our easy-to-follow, free tutorials, we provide step-by-step guidance on everything from checking essential fluids to changing tires, oil, and headlights. We believe that with the right information, every woman can feel capable and prepared when it comes to maintaining her vehicle. Our goal is not just to teach, but to inspire confidence and a sense of self-reliance. At CGsquared, we’re here to help you take control of your car—and your independence—one tutorial at a time.
